Looking back, planning forwards....

 So I've looked back at past posts, and what seems more of interest to you, dear reader, is those projects where I sculpt a figure from start to finish.

Caricatures are where I will start, as there is a lot more latitude and it's an easy entry point into sculpting.

There's also the choice between flat/ half round figures, compared to figures in the round.

Whatever I select, it will become a Work in Progress. *

If a round figure, then it will be from planning, description, build up and progression to painting stages.

If a flat, then it will be similar to the above line except instead of an armature, it will move into basic forms and then build up details. Then move to painting and finishing.

Poor Shield Design - quite complex as multiple characters.
A simple sculpt, and quite easy to adjust the head wear if desired.
The pin up bomb girl: somewhere between basic and mid complex. Painting will complete filling out the volume. 

The Figure Painting Distraction - Moderately Complex, as two main characters, the background can be implied with shapes and painting of shapes.


Now for round characters, either full figures or a bust/ half figure.



A vignette, a conversion if you work in 1/35 scale.


The Organ Grinder; best as a half figure, as that's where the character and story in. Mid to higher complexity.


A full sculpt; challenging to sculpt and paint, as it would be a one off, I'd have to sculpt and paint the details on the chest, add the limbs, paint those, attach the head....

after all that: I've decided to do a companion to a caricature, my  first figure was a Cartoon French Napoleonic soldier.

So here's the inspiration for the next sculpt: A British Redcoat, to be done in cartoon form.



Yep, this is the one. 

So this will be the first one I'll do a WIP on, from planning to sculpting to painting and basing.
